What is Counseling?

   

    Counseling is an activity as old as human history itself. It is identified with the provision of support, guidance, encouragement for self-help,development of skills and providing advice in response to problems and issues related to relationships,communication or everyday situations.The process may focus on abilities or the lack thereof in the individual, behaviors, aiming at the education of the individual and touches on spiritual, existential,emotional, interpersonal, and psychological issues and topics. The counseling process can be supported by a broador a specific theoretical framework always in accordance with the training, training and qualifications of the professional providing the services.

What is Psychotherapy?

   

As a rule, "Therapy" is related to the process of rehabilitation, change, or improvement of health.Psychotherapy is an interpersonal/personal process aimed at helping the individual to understand and to confront situations, emotions, attitudes, and perceptions. In essence, it is a process of dialogue and communication.
The therapeutic dialogue that is at the core of psychotherapy The process offers the ability to develop coping abilities/skills for situations, It serves as a helpful tool in detecting those who stand as obstacles to personal development and completion, encourages the expansion of alternative solutions to problemsand unpleasant situations and activates sources of knowledge and happiness.

    Although mental health professionals would strongly argue in favor of the benefit and the effectiveness of psychotherapy, the results are never guaranteed and they are not redeemed unless various factors and components are carefully examined such as: the individual's motivation, possible pathology, the willingness to process and decode the personal data concerning it, as well as the correct choice of professional and therapeutic direction among others.
Psychotherapy today constitutes an ocean of information and data concerning in a variety of coping techniques, methods, and approaches that in their majoritythey have secured over time an accepted and substantial form of intervention for emotional, social, personal, interpersonal, clinical, behavioral problems, etc.that are encountered in contemporary Western society. It is more ethical and more importantly, the criticism regarding which technical and theoretical approach prevails, the provision of scientific documentation to the individual by the professional through research findings with the aim of creating a clear picture of the status quo, the potential effectiveness, as well as the exploration of alternative available options.
