THE PROFESSION OF PSYCHOLOGIST
The profession of psychologist is governed, like all other professions, by the rules of science and the art that she studied. For this reason, in order to become a psychologist and consequently practice this profession, it is necessary to have equivalent, officially recognized studies in the field of psychology. These officially recognized studies secure for professional psychologists the right to obtain a LICENSE TO PRACTICE AS A PSYCHOLOGIST. No one is entitled to work legally as a psychologist if they do not have the appropriate license. The acquisition of this license certifies that: a) the psychologist has formal education b) the psychologist has been legally certified by the state and has additional qualifications (good physical and mental health, no prosecution and no conviction for criminal offenses, etc.) to practice his profession.
The laws governing the profession of Psychologist are:
N. 991/1979
N. 2646/1998
and the Community Directive 89/48
Attention: There are many who claim and advertise themselves as "psychologists" In reality, however, not everyone is a psychologist. The only way to protect ourselves from people who impersonate the profession and they mock the public, it is to request the License to Practice as a Psychologist to whom we are addressing. It is the only way to ensure that the professional we are addressing is legitimate and reliable.
